PetSTEP™ has engineered a new non-slip surface of rubberized material, solving the problems of moisture, mildew and odors that carpet causes. After extensive testing, by a team from San Jose State University, we know that a side rail of 1 ½ " is optimal to prevent a pet from slipping sideways.

Test results indicate that a higher side rail is a danger to the pet, in the event of a misstep, safely clearing the side rail. We strongly recommend that you start your pet on a PetSTEP™ ramp from a very young age as damage is done each and every time a pet is forced to jump up or down from a difficult height. Our studies indicate that each time our pet jumps up into a difficult place, they most often strike their chest or back legs, causing additional stress and injury.
